Pro Tip: Decorating -- Once you have made most of the selections required for your cabinets and countertops ask the salesperson if you can get your own sample chips of the selected items. Most of the cabinet and countertop suppliers have small color samples that they can send directly to your home. Get yourself a strong fabric type handled carry bag and begin to fill it with all the samples and brochures you like. Keep this bag in your car, which would make it easy to stop at any decorating store at a moment's notice. Perhaps you are shopping for food one day and notice there is a great tile store just next door and you have a few extra minutes to kill, just run to the car, and grab the bag. The process of selecting all the products and decorations can be a grueling job but with this bag you can do it a little at a time and make it somewhat painless.
